Mitsunoki

Mitsunoki is a collective founded in 2013 in Shimagahara, Iga City, Mie Prefecture.
At its inception, it advocated the notion of “village art” and organized exhibitions within the community.
Over time, it transformed into a group (kō) dedicated to preserving and reforming a longstanding local festival tradition.
Today, artists and scholars from various regions participate each year in the village festival held in February, engaging in exchange with local residents.

蜜ノ木

蜜ノ木は2013年に三重県伊賀市島ヶ原（旧島ヶ原村）で結成されたコレクティブである。結成当初は「村民芸術」を提唱して、村で展覧会の企画などをおこなった。やがて、地域で古くからつづく伝統の祭り（正月堂修正会）を保存・改革する集団（講）へと発展した。現在では、毎年2月に開かれる村祭りに全国各地からアーティストや学者が参加し、村人たちと交流する。

Compost Mural

Yasutake Iwana began working part-time at a composting facility in Shimagahara in 2024.
Using compost as a painting material, he created a large-scale mural in collaboration with the facility’s workers.
A planted bed is integrated into the compost mural, forming a cyclical system in which the gradual deterioration and flaking of the compost surface nourish the vegetables growing below.

堆肥壁画

岩名泰岳は2024年に島ヶ原の食品リサイクル堆肥工場で働きはじめた。
そして、堆肥を画材にして工場の従業員たちと共に巨大な壁画を制作した。堆肥壁画には花壇が設置されていて、劣化・剥落した壁画の堆肥が花壇の作物を育てる循環システムが設計されている。

We-kō

In 2024, a small group of artists conceived a painting-based project. Iwana participated in shaping its conceptual framework and proposed the collective We-Kō (e-kō: a fellowship of those who paint). Kō refers to a traditional form of religious association in Japan. The name We-Kō signifies an art collective structured differently from Western models of artist groups.
In 2024 and 2025, the members stayed for several days at a temple in Shimagahara, where they held gatherings and produced large-scale paintings outdoors at midnight.

ゑ講

2024年に数名のアーティストが絵画のための新たなプロジェクトを構想をはじめた。岩名泰岳はこのプロジェクトのコンセプト設計に参加し、「ゑ講」（絵を描く人々の講）という構想を提案。
講は寺社に集う日本の伝統的な信仰集団を起源に持ち、欧米のアーティストグループとは異なるシステムの共同体であることを意味する。
ゑ講は2024年と2025年に島ヶ原のお堂に数日間滞在して宴会を開いたり真夜中の屋外で巨大な絵を制作した。
